An intriguing black lidded 'frame' box, foil blocked with multicoloured, holographic foiled logo, with nickel hanger eyelets on rear, opens to reveal a vibrant composition of five women.
Comprising a combination of intense four colour process printing, litho printed fluro, and with the application of gloss, iridescent, pearlescent, holographic and metallic foils and complex embossing and debossing on multiple layers of die-cut board. The depth of the individual layers, contribute to the multi-dimensional nature of the work and create Neate's trademark real and ambiguous shadows and result in the work appearing to change according to your viewing position and angle of lighting.
These exquisite, handmade multiples, have been painstakingly constructed from the highest specification boards, luxury papers and inks.
Curator Paul Jones: "..I see this series of works as ‘consumer art’ - art for the consumer - it is referencing branding and high-end packaging used in distinguished retail environments.
This is an exclusive, covetable artwork.
Adam has always experimented with a variety of mediums, from cardboard, to perspex to holograms - these latest works use a myriad of materials, selected for their texture, colour, luminescence and special effects, to create a language in their own right."
